AUDITION INFORMATION

PLEASE BE AWARE: Auditions times posted are the STARTING time for Auditions
You must be at the theater by that time. We do not audition through-out the audition times.


Each director has different criteria for each audition
If a director has specific information it will be listed under the show below.

If there is no additional information listed for the show the following will apply

  • Prepared monologues are not needed
  • Be prepared to read from the script
  • Wear comfortable clothing for easy movement
  • Some things you should bring: A Pen, A Calendar, Your work schedule (for conflicts), a SMILE!
  • Be able to supply the director with any conflict dates for during the rehearsal period
  • Be sure your schedule is free the WEEK BEFORE THE OPENING DATE OF THE SHOW - this is technical week and most directors will not allow any conflicts
    (Note: Musicals start technical rehearsals two weeks prior to opening)
You may also fill out an ONLINE PRE-AUDITION FORM to be sent to the director. Filling out this form will speed up your audition process.
Pre-Audition forms will be accepted for the show until a week before Auditions are held.
Look for the Pre-Audition link under the show title.
You may still come to auditions if you have not filled out a pre-audition form

RAPUNZEL
Directed by Meredith Walker (And Senior Youth Wing Members)

 

Auditions: April: 28 - 7pm
April: 29 - 7pm

The ACP Youth Wing will hold audtions for their Garden Theatre production of "Rapunzel" on April 28 and April 29 at 7:00, at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, on Newberry St. in downtown Aiken.
Production dates will be June 23, 7:00 at the North Augusta Library, June 24 at 7:00 at the Aiken Public Library, and June 25 at 11:00 and 7:00 at Hopelands Gardens. Auditioners should be rising middle school students up to current seniors in high school. No prepared monologues are necessary. The cast calls for 2 males, 3 females and 2 flexible

Audition CD backing may be used but must not include main vocals.

CAST NEEDED:
2 Men - 1 Woman

Actors can be younger or older but must look as if they are in their mid to late 20's early 30's

Multi-Racial Casting

Character Descriptions:

Jonathan (A - A (two octaves), - 20's to early 30's)
Dynamic, attractive leading man. Struggling East Village composer turning 30; smart and likeable, extremely passionate and determined; edgily ironic and irreverent and a little self-involved. Strong rock voice required.

Michael (B flat - G, - 20's to early 30's)
Jonathan's roommate and best friend. Attractive, business professional with an artist's soul. Career-minded and image-conscious, but also supporting of and caring toward Jonathan. Soulful and devoted, but secretive. The same actor plays a number of additional character roles requiring terrific comic timing. Strong rock voice required.

Susan (Strong belt A flat to D, - 20's to early 30's)
Jonathan's girlfriend and a struggling dancer. Attractive, sexy and dynamic. Nurturing, loving and supportive but growing increasingly frustrated with Jonathan's pre-occupation and lack of commitment. Same actress plays a number of additional character roles requiring terrific comic timing.
